John Paul Jones Award

The Navy League of the United States Awarded CAPT Timothy Kinsella, USN, Commanding Officer of NAS Pensacola with the prestigious John Paul Jones Award for Inspirational Leadership for the year 2020. The Award was presented by Pensacola Navy League President, CAPT Daniel McCort USN (ret) on 28 July 2021 at the Pensacola Country Club. The crowd assembled included Community and Military leaders, as well as State, County and Local politicians. 

The John Paul Jones Inspirational Leadership Award is named for the Father of the U.S. Navy, the Navy’s first indomitable sea fighter whose spirit of personal sacrifice, patriotic devotion, and courage further added to his reputation as an inspirational leader. Presented since 1957, this award for inspirational leadership is awarded to a Naval officer who has made an outstanding contribution to the high standards of leadership that is traditional in the naval service.
